DAVID PRICE CERAMICS COURSE

Following the success of the ceramics courses I have run at Candili since 1996, and also ‘Mosaic, Earth & Fire’ courses run jointly with Martin Cheek, I am offering a ceramics workshop in June 2002 at the beautiful estate home of the Noel-Baker family who came to the island of Evia in the footsteps of Lord Byron in 1832. This course will run in parallel with Martin’s mosaic course and is essentially a ceramics course. We will be throwing, hand building and press moulding and firings will include earthenware, raku and smoke firing. Martin and I have established a stimulating and creative working rapport and in order for our students to gain from this unique experience, we bring a flexible approach to our teaching.
On arrival in Athens we will meet in the foyer of the Hotel Mouseiou at 7.30, prior to dining out; Saturday will be spent at the National Archaeological Museum after which transport will be provided to Candili, approximately 2 hours from Athens.
The working day is between 9 am – 1pm. The afternoon is free to either carry on working, relaxing by the pool or taking a trip to the beach or other place of interest.
For those that might be interested, Martin is running a mosaic tour of Venice and Ravenna from Saturday 8 June until Friday 14 June, preceding the courses. If you are interested in adding this tour to the course, please contact me for further details.

NB The cost of travel from UK to Athens is not included in the above price. Easyjet, British Airways & Olympic Airlines all fly twice daily to Athens.
