MARTIN CHEEK MOSAIC COURSE

CANDILI ESTATE   PROKOPI    EVIA   GREECE

Friday 14 June – Saturday 29 June 2002

Following the success of the mosaics courses I have run at Candili over the last 4 summers, and also  ‘Mosaic, Earth & Fire’ courses run jointly with David Price,  I am offering a mosaics workshop in June 2002 at the beautiful estate home of the Noel-Baker family who came to the island of Evia in the footsteps of Lord Byron in 1832. For details on the estate please see website at www.candili.co.uk  and  the course at www.martincheek.com

This course will run in parallel with David’s ceramics course and is essentially a mosaics course.   David and I have established a stimulating and creative working rapport and in order for our students to gain from this unique experience, we bring a flexible approach to our teaching.

On arrival in Athens we will meet in the foyer of the Hotel Mouseiou at 7.30, prior to dining out;   Saturday will be spent at the National Archaeological Museum after which transport will be provided to Candili, approximately 2 hours from Athens.

The working day is between 9 am – 1pm.   The afternoon is free to either carry on working,  relaxing by the pool or taking a trip to the beach or other place of interest.

For those that might be interested, I am also offering a mosaic tour of Venice  and Ravenna from Friday 7 June until Friday 14 June.    If you are interested in joining this tour, please contact me for further details.
